Steak Baguette with Tomato and Onion Relish Recipe

Steak Baguette with Tomato and Onion Relish Recipe

A steak baguette that almost does not take any time to make and can be a good trip companion or served immediately.

Preparation time: 10 minutes || Cooking time: 5 minutes

You'll need:

   - Baguette: 1

   - Sirloin steak: 400gm -> preferably thin slices

   - Salt and pepper to taste

   - Mayonnaise: optional

For the relish:

   - Red onion: half

   - Cherry tomatoes: 100gm

   - Balsamic vinegar: 2 teaspoons

   - Olive oil: 2 tablespoons

Cut the baguette into 4 and slice lengthways. Spread a bit of mayonnaise on each side and set aside.

Heat a frying pan over medium fire and fry the thin stakes for about 2 and a half minutes on each side. It needs to be cooked and just a little pink in the middle. Set aside when done.

For the relish, you'll have to finely slice the onion and place them in a bowl; pour boiling water to cover and leave for about 5 minutes. Remove the water and rinse the onion under cold water to cool off.

Cut the cherry tomatoes in quarters and mix them with the onion, balsamic vinegar and oil.

Place thin steak slices into each baguette and top up with the relish and some green leaves. You're done.
