Healthy green lentils dish with olive oil and garlic
Green lentils are healthier than red lentils and the better part is that green lentils are packed with fibers, protein and antioxidants. Isn't it wonderful? Moreover, green lentils are rather low cost and such volatile that you can cook various dishes, salads, stews, soups and more.
Here is a delicious and simple green lentil recipe.
- Green lentils: 2 cups
- Olive oil: 6 spoons
- Oregano: 1 teaspoon
- Thyme: 1 teaspoon
- Basil: 1 teaspoon
- Garlic: 6 cloves
- Salt and pepper to taste
First, mash the garlic, rinse the lentils under fresh water then let it soak for about 10 minutes, rinse well and put it to boil, fully covered in water. Boil over medium fire for about 40-60 minutes or until it is cooked and top up with water occasionally to ensure it is always fully covered.
Remove, drain and mix all the ingredients with the hot lentils and serve immediately.
