According to a Beijing university, consuming eggs protects you from cardiovascular and cerebral illnesses because they raise the good cholesterol levels. Scientists discovered that consuming an egg a day raises your good cholesterol levels, a high-density lipoprotein that eliminates "bad" cholesterol, also known as low-density lipoprotein.
Dr. Lang Pan, first author of this study, stated that few scientists studied the connection between consuming eggs and cardiovascular illnesses. They recruited almost 5,000 Chinese people for the study, amongst which nearly 3,400 were suffering from cardiovascular illnesses. Blood tests showed that people which moderately consume eggs have higher levels of apolipoprotein A1, which is a component and building block of "good" cholesterol, especially with several high-density lipoprotein molecules that help keep arteries and other blood vessels free of bad cholesterol, preventing them to form blood clots and high blood pressure.
