Beef with Oyster Sauce, Peppers and Broccoli Recipe
A very quick meal that involves tossing the beef in honey and soy sauce before frying for a delightful sweet and savory Asian flavor.
Preparation time: 10 minutes || Cooking time: 10 minutes
You'll need:
- Sirloin Steak: 350gm
- Sunflower oil: 3 tablespoons
- Broccoli: 150gm
- Pepper: 2
- Red onion: 1
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the sauce:
- Soy sauce: 3 tablespoons
- Honey: 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce: 4 tablespoons
- Garlic: 1 clove
First, cut the steak into medium strips, deseed and slice the peppers in thin slices, slice the onion and crush the garlic clove.
Place the beef strips into a bowl, add 1 tablespoon on soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of honey and mix well until all beef is covered. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Mix the remaining ingredients for the sauce, separately.
Heat the sunflower oil in your deep frying pan over medium fire and stir fry the beef for 2-3 minutes or until it gets a brown color, then set it aside. Top up with a little oil and stir fry the broccoli for 2 minutes, then add peppers and onion to stir fry for another 2 minutes. Add the sauce to the pan and cook for a further 1 minute, then add the beef strips and toss together. Serve immediately.
